DAMASCUS, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) -- Syrian President Bashar al-Assad ordered Saturday a minor cabinet reshuffle, according to the state- run SANA news agency.

The reshuffle brought the change of seven ministries, including housing, public work, labor, agriculture, oil, finance and social affairs.

The ministry of social affairs and work was split into two ministries, one for social affairs and one for work.

The state media spelled no details about the reasons behind the reshuffle, but it apparently came as part of the practical steps by the Syrian administration to implement the political vision put forward last month by Assad himself.
